4 Intimate Nights with Beyonce Sells Out in Seconds

Who: Beyonce
What: 4 Intimate Nights Concert @ Roseland Ballroom Concert
Rating: Sold and standing room only

For the all most exclusive and impromptu concert for her latest album"4", Beyonce will be hosting an intimate concert to a sold out and standing room only crowd at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City. Those who were fortunate enough to grab tickets within the 22 seconds of going on sale will enjoy her latest in live shows to tracks off the new album.

Some Beybey stans are not so pleased with the site BeyonceOnline

as they were promised a special code in order to purchase tickets before the general public.

I'm sure in full Beyonce fashion this concert will either hit the road, hopefully coming to our part of town, air on TV, or sold on DVD. I'm hoping to be able to catch at least one.

Historic Crenshaw is Getting Upgraded

(my new Avi pic @ilovecollins taken at the BHCPLive)

Who: BHCP
What: Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza Redevelopment Project
Where: Its in the neighborhood
Rating: Live music is always a good time.

Its very cool that the time is being taken to redevelop the historic Crenshaw district. Namely the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza and the now Rave Cinema. I lived up the street from this mall between the ages of 7-16, so my days of roaming the streets and spending a countless amount of hours with friends window shopping happened within the radius of King, Crenshaw, and Stocker.

Of what we can call LA culture this area has given us cruising low riders, movies (Boyz in the Hood and Thin Line Between Love and Hate), The Incense Man, that guy that dances really hard on the corner listening to his head phones... you get the idea. While these aren't the greatest of memories its what's going on over there.

So if the city, the community, or even residents can muster up the backing and support to redevelop its appearance and activities, I'm in. I had a good time at the free concert series BHCPLive. I was able to catch the opening night. The set-up was very inviting and cozy. There were lots of families, a great mix of people in the crowd.

While the interior of the mall is still very much under construction its still open for business.

Totally Obsessed xoxo, Love

#NP: Anthony Hamilton + Music

Artist: anthony Hamilton
Song: Please Stay
Album: Point of It All
Rating: Don't Sleep!

This might be my favorite Anthony Hamilton Album. Lyrically I can tell he's a gentlemen. His lyrics are very polite and kind. He uses lots of live instruments especially on his ballads, which I love. This album has so many good tracks on it. I know I have at least one more #NP to get out of it before I move on. So enjoy the ride and the music!

#NP: Prince + Vid

Artist: Prince
Song: If I Was Your Girlfriend
Album: Sign O' The Times
Rating: "... even if that somebody was me, yayy hee-hee" P.s. I love his accessories in the video.
Song Facts:
Did you know that as successful as this song has become over the years it didn't chart well when it was first released?

Also it was noted that the songs female point-of-view was derived from the close relationship Prince's then girlfriend Susannah Melvoin had with best friend Wendy Melvoin.

#NP: Rihanna + Vid

Artist: Rihanna
Song: What's My Name
Album:
Rating: In my accent, "Cause your just my type ooh na na na na".

I love this song, and the video made me love it even more. so great when that happens. The soft pastel color palette and the slow pace of the video created a very gentle and lovely mood. Her edgy, good girl gone bad persona was still translated in the styling of her wardrobe. Nice.

#NP: Jay-Z Kanye West & Riccardo Tisci Collaborate

Who: Jay-Z, Kanye West, & Riccardo Tisci
What: Music and fashion collaborate

What do a mogul, a rebel, and a fashion designer have in common? Watch the Throne, the new and highly anticipated forthcoming collaboration effort of Jay-Z and Kanye West. Givenchy Creative Director Riccardo Tisci has been enlisted to design the cover artwork. Beautiful as it is with its soft gold tone is heavy with imagery. It would be fabulous in a embossed suede texture.

H.A.M the first single from Watch the Throne
Art Direction by Riccardo Tisci

It seems that the RocNation owner just can't stay away from the studio. First hearing some of Kanye's lyrics to a song written for their unborn sons at New York's Museum of Modern Art, Jay says, "I told him [Kanye] I wasn't going to get on it. The honesty of it, its just so cool". Adding that he thought Kanye's verse running down his past mistakes  was his best ever. Frank Ocean and Mrs. Carter, Beyonce, are the only guests set to appear on the album. With no definite release date set, Jay-Z told MTV News that, "fans would hear it soon".

Two versions of the CD will be available - a standard CD with 10 songs for $13.99 and the deluxe version for $16.99 with special packaging and four bonus tracks.
